We have been invited to curate a stage at Kite – a brand new festival of ideas and music for curious, inquisitive and cultural minds.

Kite takes place in Kirtlington Park, a beautiful greenfield site just north of Oxford. It will take place on seven stages, each featuring performances and talks by musicians, comedians, artists, writers, activists and thinkers. The Heavenly Presents Stage runs on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June and features an emphasis on live music and readings and conversations from books about music.

The Heavenly Presents Stage will feature live music from Confidence Man, Mattiel, The Orielles, Baxter Dury, Gwenno, Katy J Pearson, Black Country New Road, OneDa and Fran Lobo alongside a programme of talks and readings that includes Zakia Sewell interviewing Bill Brewster & Frank Broughton on their classic book Last Night A DJ Saved My Life and Jude Rogers on her forthcoming debut The Sound of Being Human. Shirley Collins will be in conversation about America Over The Water (with musical accompaniment from Broadside Hacks) and Paper Cuts Meets Believe In Magic with Ted Kessler and Robin Turner. There will also be a unique Pop Quiz run by the legendary Jonny Trunk and Bill Brewster and Heavenly Jukebox DJs will be on hand playing records after the bands. More acts will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Away from the Heavenly stage, Kite presents room to both dance and think across six more stages. Over the weekend, they will present live sets from the likes of Grace Jones, Mavis Staples, TLC, Tom Misch, This Is The Kit and Egypt 80 and talks from a diverse selection of thinkers including David Miliband, Rory Stewart, George Monbiot, Tina Brown, Jarvis Cocker and Sathnam Sanghera (and many more).
