Heavenly Recordings are heading North once again to host what is fast becoming an annual tradition, The Heavenly Weekender.
This year will see artists both new and established from the label’s roster play The Brudenell Social Club on Friday June 14th and from midday on Saturday June 15th 2019. The venue will be open until 2am on both nights.
After a very humbling response to our initial announcement – early bird tickets all sold out without any bands revealed! – it’s finally time for us to lift the curtain on the full line-up.
On the Friday we bring Brisbane to Yorkshire with…
Hatchie, just 1 week before the release of their debut album Keepsake;
and then Confidence Man, providing an unbeatable Friday night party. Get down!
We’ll be keeping it rolling behind the decks until 2am, so plenty of time for dancing.
On the Saturday we’ll be kicking things off again from midday, with a jam packed day of non stop bands including…
audiobooks, whose first ever gig was at our weekender in Hebden Bridge last year;
Baxter Dury performing a very special solo set;
Boy Azooga after sharpening their already razor-edged skills at SXSW earlier in the year;
Gwenno performing songs from last year’s critically acclaimed Cornish language LP Le Kov;
H. Hawkline playing for the first time in a while after touring and collaborating with Aldous Harding;
Stealing Sheep playing tracks from their brand new album Big Wows;
friends of The Orielles and new Heavenly favourites Working Men’s Club, whose sold out debut single is already fetching £40 on Discogs;
and finally The Orielles themselves closing out the weekend with a DJ set; if you were at any of their Disco Wrists residency nights at The Social recently you’ll know to bring your dancing shoes.
Advance tickets are priced at £15 for the Friday, £20 for the Saturday or £30 for the whole weekend. Grab yours here.
