Love Record Stores is back! Saturday September 4th. Save the date.

Love Record Stores is a celebration of the community and culture of UK record shops and the music fans, labels & artists that support them.

The campaign originally launched in 2020 to raise awareness of the challenges faced by record stores during the COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to shine a light on music retail here in the UK in 2021.

Over 220 UK independent stores will participate in Love Record Stores 2021.

On the day 54 brand new vinyl editions will be available. These can be purchased instore from 9am and any remaining stocks will be available online at 9pm that evening.

There are many fantastic releases from a raft of great indie labels partaking this year.

Here’s what we have in-store

In response to the swift sell-out of our ‘Weekender’ reissues earlier in the year come two special coloured vinyl editions (1000 of each) especially for Love Record Stores.

The timeless Weekender along with its companion piece ‘Weatherall’s Weekender’ (two mind-blowing remixes by Andrew) were originally released on Heavenly in 1992 and repackaged this year with the inclusion of the previously unreleased ‘Film Soundtrack’ on the B side.

✿ 12” – Weekender b/w Weekender (film soundtrack) – pink vinyl edition ✿

✿12″ – Weatherall’s Weekender: Audrey is a Little Bit Partial b/w Audrey is a Little Bit More Partial – yellow vinyl edition ✿

Read the ‘Weekender’ story here.

And, we are honoured to be re-issuing an album that all at Heavenly consider to be a stone cold classic.

‘All Through The Night,’ the debut album from Liverpool’s The Sand Band, was originally released on the Deltasonic label in 2011. On its release only a few hundred copies were pressed making it a much treasured item which rarely shows up on the collectors market. David Mcdonnell is a fine songwriter and this truly is a lost gem.

Celebrating the records 10th anniversary with a vinyl release. Listen to the album here.

The #loverecordstores campaign, which was founded by Jason Rackham, Annelise Keestra, Jeff Barrett, Andy Saunders, Rupert Morrison and Tony Crean, was awarded IMPALA’s ‘Outstanding Contribution Award’ in 2020 and has been awarded the ‘Indie Champion Award’ at the 2021 AIM Awards as well as being nominated for the ‘Music Consumer Innovation Award’ at the 2021 Music Week Awards.

Love Record Stores 2021 Ambassador and Domino recording artist Georgia says:

“September 4th is the day!! This last year or so has been tough for us all, especially for our independent shops and we’ve got to be there to help our musical community in whatever way we can. Buy a record for yourself- you deserve it! Buy a record for a friend, for a fan, for your little brother… a good record can change someone’s life forever!”
