Today marks the release of Dan Stock’s new EP, the follow up to Take It Too Far which came out in the spring.

The new EP, Bright Ideas, is accompanied by a video for the title track which you can watch here:

Directed by Louise Mason and Andrew Davidson, the video features Dan and his recently recruited live band who performed alongside him at his recent run of support slots with The Shacks & spring appearance at The Great Escape Festival.

The extra two tracks ‘Nothing We Can Do About It‘ and ‘Tell Everyone‘ make up the EP which you can listen to here:

The EP is a confident and swaggering calling card from this young man barely out of his teens who has already impressed with his seemingly spontaneous ability to write enduring classics which recall the timeless quality of Stiff greats Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe.

Talking about the EP, which follows his debut release for Heavenly earlier this year, Take It To Far, Dan said:

I’ve had this song knocking around for what feels like forever. I vividly remember messing around on the guitar one night like I always do and this melody coming out of nowhere. I’ve obsessed over every word, note and the production for the last couple of years but somehow I’m still in love with it. It’s packed full of drama, romance, hope and everything I believe in wrapped up in a concise pop song.”
