Amsterdam’s Pip Blom have today shared a brand-new track, ‘Tiger.’

As ever with Pip Blom, their knack for colourful and vivacious pop shines through on the new track, however, ‘Tiger’ marks a departure in sound, crafted on computers and featuring synths, it hints at what’s to come on the new album.

Talking about the track, Pip said:

“It’s my favourite song off the album, and quite different to what we’ve done before. I don’t want to sound arrogant, and I find these things difficult to say about my own tracks, but it’s quite an earworm! It’s good to surprise people with a new sound, and though it still sounds like a Pip Blom track because it has my voice on it and the melodies I tend to write, it feels like it’s from a different source. I wanted to be bold and do something new.”

Releasing their debut album, Boat, for Heavenly Recordings in 2019, the Dutch 4-piece set about touring relentlessly, building a reputation for effortless song-writing and feel-good-chorus’ at both their own headline shows, support slots with the likes of Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party and festivals across Europe, including a slot on Glastonbury’s John Peel stage in 2020.

Second album Welcome Break, appeared in 2021, in part inspired by the band’s life on the road over the previous couple of years. Very much picking up where Boat had left off, it saw them make significant steps – a U.K. headline tour culminated in a sold-out show at London’s Electric Ballroom and most recently in February of this year the band played a run of sold-out gigs as part of this year’s Independent Venue Week.
