With a chanted verse and an enchanted chorus that sit atop a huge, chunking backing track that sounds like it’s been beamed in directly from an early ’90s Blackburn rave, Confidence Man’s single ‘Holiday’ is the sound of sweet escape, arriving just when we all need it the most.
Previous Confidence Man singles have always arrived with incredible remixes from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Greg & Che Wilson and Red Axes. Holiday follows with reworkings from legends Erol Alkan and Bruise.
Erol’s take stretches out the original instrumental track, adds in a little tweaking acid and a little more Italo piano ato fully amp up the rave, creating a proper soundtrack for the strobes in the process; Bruise adds a new bassline to Confidence Man’s vocals to conjure up a piece of dreamy celestial house music that may well cause involuntary levitation on the dance floor.
