Today Mattiel released into the world their second album, ‘Satis Factory’, but that isn’t the only thing… a stunning new video has just been shared by the band, ‘Food For Thought’. The second single from the record out today on Heavenly Recordings. European headline shows kick off in July.

Talking about the video, co-directed by Mattiel and Jason Travis Mattiel said:

“The theme set around a dinner table at a farmhouse. The video begins with giant, stylised table full of food and drink. Big roast turkey/ham, banquet of different dishes. Think 1970’s cookbook creations / weird jello food. Slowly throughout video, the huge amount of  food is eaten and consumed, more and more. Eventually by the end of the video, the entire table of food has been chewed up with only remnants leftover – turkey carcass, apple cores, etc.”

Talking about the track, she added:

“This song came to life when Jonah sent me a song with this super-catchy bassline intro. It reminds me of someone tiptoeing up to a podium to give a speech. And it did become a spoken-word piece. The lyrics are a reaction to my childhood memories of watching my friends become brainwashed into a particular kind of life. I question a lot of those values. In a broad sense, it’s important to remember to find my own truth, and to maintain self-awareness when encountering regurgitated information. It can be tempting to conform.” What’s food for thought when all you’ve got is something to regurgitate?
