This weekend Dan Stock begins his run of UK dates with festival shows at Live At Leeds, Liverpool Sound City & Sounds From The Other City in Salford.
To get you in the groove he has shared the striking new video for ‘Take It Too Far’ his debut EP title track.
Simple, stark and engaging, Dan said about the video:
Sam Wisternoff and I spent a fun day filming simple static shots of me performing and staring down the camera. He then took the footage away and added some clever animations which madfor an end result which is reminiscent of Elvis Costello’s ‘Pump It Up’ mixed with Edwyn Collins’ ‘A Girl Like You’ and The White Stripes’ ‘Seven Nation Army.’

Sam Wisternoff the director added:
“Using VHS tape (not footage, the physical tape) and guitar strings photographed in time-lapse, I wanted to create juddering lines to frame Dan in a variety of ways, keeping him the focus of the video. With each section of the song getting more intense, zooming through shapes in order to take.”
‘Take It Too Far’ was produced by James Bagshaw of Temples and mixed by Marta Salogni (M.I.A, Bjork, Liars, Sampha, Orielles) and the 3-track EP also features the tracks ‘Baby Valentino’ and ‘Have You Heard The News’.
As well as this weekends festival shows Dan will also be supporting The Shacks on their UK tour.
