Steve Mason has teamed up with our very own OneDa to release “Moss Side Fish Fry”, a radical re-working of “Brixton Fish Fry”, a track taken from his much-acclaimed album Brothers & Sisters, which came out on Double Six in March of this year.

Talking about the track, which has been totally overhauled and given a musical re-boot with OneDa providing a completely new lyric & vocal, Steve said:

“This is special. I have completely re-worked Brixton Fish Fry and was lucky enough to get Manchester’s OneDa to contribute some epic and deep verses to the finished version, now called Moss Side Fish Fry. Currently blowing up all over the place OneDa is a special talent and I’m privileged to have her on this new version.”

OneDa added:

“I approached this track as I would do a spoken word piece, using my verses in a poetic form, deconstructing the meaning I took from Steve’s lyrics in the chorus. I’m really excited to have an opportunity to share this side of what I do. The lyrics I write are of confusion and feeling lost in a world that ‘chews you up and spits you out’, not being quite sure where you or anyone else fits in and continuing the journey being fully aware of this. The video complements the words, it’s a straight up, animated performance walking through the streets of Manny.”
