Temples have a brand new EP, ‘Other Structures’ featuring six unreleased and remixed tracks from their 2014 debut album, ‘Sun Structures.’
Today, the band release ‘Day of Conquest’ from the EP. Talking about the track James Bagshaw, Temples’ lyricist and front man, says:
“Day Of Conquest’ was part of the Sun Structures album demos, it probably would have been on the album but we ran out of run time on the LP. I remember being fond of this song, and it was a pleasant surprise to go back and unearth the sonic layering. I love how the sections contrast in an interesting way, and the fact there isn’t really a chorus.“

Additonally the band have released The S.L.P Remix (Serge Pizzorno of Kasabian) of ‘Shelter Song’ taken from their Other Structures EP which is released on Friday 4th October on Heavenly Recordings.
Talking about the remix, James Bagshaw, Temples’ lyricist and front man, said:
“Over a decade ago we supported Kasabian on a short tour.
One night Serge decided to sing the verse lyrics of ‘Shelter Song’ over their track ‘Underdog’. It was such a great moment. When we asked Serge to do a remix we knew we would unlock another layer of the song. And bring a fresh electronic timbre. He is the king of building up songs into crescendos.”

The 6-track EP is made up of unreleased tracks taken from sessions for the psych-drenched band’s debut 2014 album Sun Structures, as well as two remixes of their smash hit single ‘Shelter Song’ by Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno and Robert Leven Been aka Robert Turner of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
The new EP release follows the release of a brand new double-vinyl edition (X2 LP coloured vinyl edition with mirr-board sleeve) of Sun Structures which was released for this year’s Record Store Day in April. Sun Structures was originally released in the spring of 2014, and features the singles ‘Shelter Song’, ‘Colours To Life’, ‘Keep In The Dark’ and ‘Mesmerise’. The RSD edition included a download of the album and vinyl copy of Sun Restructured – Beyond The Wizard Sleeves (Erol Alkan and Richard Norris) re-imagination of this classic debut.
